Industry: Civil Engineering, Rail, Aviation, Power, HighwaysA leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team in their Barnsley office. This role will involve estimating contracts and projects during the pre-contract/tender stage for a variety of civil engineering sectors such as rail, aviation, power & utilities, and Environment Agency projects. Join a fast-paced, dynamic work-winning team delivering multi-disciplinary civils projects in the North region.Key Responsibilities:
Manage tender documentation from receipt to delivery, ensuring effective registration, control, and administration.
Prepare and manage tenders, presenting them to senior management at tender review meetings.
Work closely with the Supply Chain team to place supplier/subcontractor enquiries.
Conduct technical and commercial appraisals of construction labour, plant, materials, and temporary works.
Perform take-offs from drawings and create cost-effective tenders from first principles.
Conduct risk analysis and price accordingly, ensuring accurate tender submissions.
Prepare estimating reports and assist with proposals and contract management functions.Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in multi-disciplinary civil engineering sectors, including rail, highways, aviation, or utilities/power.
Solid experience in first principles estimating.
Strong background in civil engineering project estimating.
Familiar with Excel, Word, and estimating software.
Experience in a Senior Estimator role within a civil engineering contractor organisation.
