Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Hospitality Section Chief and Division Chief (DC) of the General Services Division of the Corporate Services and Facilities Department (CSFDG), this role ensures the successful delivery of critical hospitality services Fund-wide including events planning and organizing, food services, and the IMF’s long-stay hotel, the Concordia.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with the strategic planning for the work of the section and provides substantive input to the division’s overall planning and goal setting. Supports and initiates policies, determines priorities, establishes objectives, and directs and manages the work of the Section. Exercises initiative in expanding and developing the role of Hospitality, leading its evolution from service provider to creative partner, and seamlessly and creatively integrating the work of the Section with other Fund’s service providers.
Coordinates and supports the planning and delivery of a wide range of hospitality services, coordinating closely with other service providers and clients in DG, CFS, and the IMF at large.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation on service standards, processes and workflow to ensure efficient and repeatable results. Reviews requests for services in a holistic manner to ensure that the division’s resources are used efficiently. Ensures that the best possible and most creative integration of Fund services and resources are engaged to respond to requests so that the department and the Fund maximize the impact and potential of the section’s services.
Supports the Section Chief in developing and communicating strategies with staff and senior management regarding the most appropriate engagement of hospitality services to support the Fund’s mission and activities. Actively engages with outside organizations and public and private sector entities in a cooperative dialogue to ensure a productive exchange and sharing of best practices in the formulation and delivery of hospitality services.
Assists in the management of the Section’s operational budgets, develops Statements of Work, and assists with the formulation and awarding of RFPs and the management of contracts for hospitality products, services, and staffing.
Day-to-day management of the performance of vendors in the effective and efficient execution of tasks related to the planning and delivery of Hospitality Section services. Sets the tone for collaborative integration with key stakeholders and partners, including other IMF service providers.
Supports the selection of vendors for specific jobs and oversees their performance against contractual terms and conditions. Ensures that in-house or external vendor companies or vendor personnel provide the deliverables in accordance with the contract terms and agreed upon Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Maintains technologically up-to-date, operationally efficient and effective tools, processes, and facilities to support the planning and delivery of the hospitality services.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree in hospitality management, events management, or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or a bachelor’s degree, supplemented by a minimum of ten years of relevant professional work experience, is required.
A regular staff member who is selected to fill the vacancy will maintain their open-ended status. If the selected candidate is a contractual employee, they will be offered a Term staff appointment. Staff members already on a term appointment will continue their current term but may receive an extension provided that their current term appointment has not already been extended.
