Position Summary:
UCI Beall Applied Innovation’s purpose is to measurably improve lives through access to UCI-developed knowledge. We partner with researchers and industry to move UCI knowledge and discoveries into products and markets. With this goal, we collaborate closely with faculty/researchers, industry, and entrepreneurs to carry out variety of projects and programs with (4) pillars of BAI’s operation teams: Research Translation, New Ventures, Enterprise Collaborations, and Industry Sponsored Research. BAI is currently located at UCI Research Park. Our physical building, known as the COVE, provides: office space for BAI staff; offering sublease space for emerging UCI ecosystem start-ups; and providing a venue for programs and events engineered to enable the university-industry collaboration.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Finance Analyst will independently perform an extensive range of tasks and responsibilities: from budget allocation and reviewing financial/payroll transactions to general ledger reconciliation in order to identify financial trends and discrepancies while generating financial reports and making recommendations to department leaders on best utilization of financial resources. Deep and broad finance knowledge with keen judgment is required to undertake problem-solving and robust analysis regarding UC fiscal policy, contract and grant management, gift/endowment management, Sales & Services activities, and more. Candidates must be comfortable preparing recommendations for budget allocation and operating forecasts, implementing transactions, and suggesting best financial practices. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. The candidate will act as the liaison between BAI and various campus departments/BAI constituents; Contacts are both internal and external to the department. Providing contextual guidance to BAI staff on financial policies and compliance occurs regularly.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,000.00 – $89,000.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $73,900.00 – $133,700.00 (Annual Salary).
