Supervisor: The incumbent of this post reports to the Assistant Budget Officer, A14. 2. Supervisees: Directly supervises Finance Assistant(s) (Budget), A10 (as applicable).

Responsibilities

The incumbent:

  • Reviews and checks budgeting documents for consistency and accuracy of calculations; performs transactions requested on the system to reflect approved adjustments of funds’ allocations.
  • Maintains all records related to the Programme Budget and External Grants within the budget section; categorizes based on project and source of funding; drafts required documents and correspondence related to his/her functions.
  • Assists the supervisor in preparing monthly/quarterly review of Programme Budget and External Grants expenditures; coordinates with expending officers and project officers in follow up of over or under expenditures and adjusting reserves as requested.
  • Assists the supervisor in reviewing and analysing Hard and Soft Commitment balances per Fund/Grant in the Field; drafts necessary spreadsheets and estimates calculations.
  • Drafts and prints statistical budget reports on weekly/ monthly and quarterly basis; finalizes additional calculations and comparisons required.
  • Trains new staff in Field Programs and Departments on the budgeting process and related procedures and instructions.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education

  • First university degree from an accredited educational institution in accountancy, finance or related discipline.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting and finance work, involving working experience with computerized finance systems is required. -Please confirm if you live/ reside in West Bank or Jerusalem? Languages

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
