Clandon Wood Natural Burial is a multiple award winning private cemetery near Guildford,
Surrey. Unlike a conventional cemetery the 12 hectares of grounds are managed as a nature
reserve; there are no headstones and graves are intended to return to nature. See our website

The Role

We are looking for a physically fit, enthusiastic individual to work with our current
groundspersons maintaining the grounds and assisting in digging graves. In addition you will
work towards establishing a programme of baseline ecological surveys that will enhance the
management of the site as a nature reserve.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a background in practical grounds keeping or UK wildlife
conservation. Some experience in leading a team would be desirable but not necessary. Along
with a solid base in practical land management skills, using plant machinery (e.g. 360
excavator) would be desirable and a full UK license is essential. You should be prepared for
the physical and outdoor nature of this position that requires you to work in all weathers.

Clandon Wood is a small team and you will need to be a good team player as well as good at
interacting with your colleagues and customers.
