A fantastic opportunity for someone to looking to secure a permanent position with a large Civil Engineering contractor operating internationally. Abatec is assisting a tier one company with the recruitment of a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, to be based on a large-scale highway project in Merthyr Tydfil.

As Senior Health & Safety Advisor you will:

• Contribute to the growth and development of Health and Safety Advisors
• Lead briefings to ensure all new employees are aware and understand the construction phase plan (CPP) for the project.
• Support the Health and Safety Manager in the continual improvement of procedures and policies through the duration of the project.
• Promote a proactive approach to Health and Safety, liaising with site staff to ensure issues are clearly understood and effectively managed.
• Advise project personnel on statutory health and safety requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and development of RAMS and project management plans.
• Collate Health, Safety and Welfare data for monthly review.

Our client requires a Senior Health & Safety Advisor with:

• Working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience of working in the Construction sector
• Experience of delivering training modules is desirable.
• Knowledge of various occupational environments, such as works at height, confined spaces, arrangement of equipment, plant and people, temporary works etc.
• An ability to evaluate safety practices, procedures, programmes, attitudes and awareness and to recommend methods of improvement.
• Experience of MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
• CSCS card.

Salary/Benefits:

• Up to £50,000 per annum
• £6,500 car allowance
• Employer pension scheme
• 25 days paid annual holiday plus bank holidays
