Context/Reporting line:

Under the overall supervision of the Head, Transition and Recovery Division, the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator (Durable Solutions) the Senior Information Management Assistant will be responsible to perform the following duties.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Collect and analyze existing/on-going return assessments, data and guidelines to identify trends on returns per governorate and nationally.
  2. Conduct data validation and cross-checking to improve the quality of produced data; Maintain written instructions and guidelines for data base/monitoring system, data collection and information management to produce statistical reports, queries, and maps.
  3. Provide analysis of collected data and information management methods and produce statistical reports and maps on key governorates witnessing significant return movements.
  4. Develop standard formats and regular output of publication of materials and statistics highlighting the returns situation in Iraq as required by Durable Solutions Task Force.
  5. Verify all ICT standards and policies are followed while working with the ICT, IM, or IMS teams to pilot new websites or online tools.
  6. Provide technical advice and guidance into the types of qualitative and quantitative data (key indicators) that should be collected within the database. Include quantitative and qualitative indicators for monitoring.
  7. Respond to complex information requests and inquiries. Review, logs and routes incoming correspondence. Sets up/improved and maintains files/records.
  8. Verify the accuracy of information through data received from the field and draft related status reports; data collection, monitoring system, and confirm corrective action has been taken.
  9. Verify the accuracy of GIS information that are received from the field team, create, and edit maps.
  10. Assist in designing, development and maintenance of databases and data collection tools and developing ideas for new data collections forms.
  11. Compiles, summarizes, enters data and presents information/data on programme /project delivery.
  12. Provides specialized office assistance, respond to complex information requests and inquiries. Review, logs, and routes incoming correspondence.
  13. Liaise with TRD public information, IM and IMS teams, to support and monitoring of ongoing projects, preparation for upcoming projects also to collaborate in the designing reports, creating maps, developing or maintenance websites, databases, and data collection tools for the RWG and DSTWG.
  14. Design and configure Microsoft SharePoint Online, creating online libraries and workflows using Microsoft Power Platform.
  15. Assist in planning and conducting online training, materials preparation, and listing nominees.
  16. Develop UI for DS and RWG websites and oversee the functionality of the website, evaluate, and manage website performance, facilitate hosting and server management, and develop, maintain, and update website content.
  17. Represent RWG at data related working groups to advocate on key return issues and promote inclusion of returns and durable solutions issues.
  18. Perform such other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:

  • University Degree in Information Technology, Data base, Computer Science or any related field from an accredited academic institution with four years relevant professional experience.
  • High School Diploma from an accredited academic institution, with six years of relevant professional experience.
  •  

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong analytic skills with Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data collection and analysis, data quality check, and data collection tools.
  • Strong graphic design skills, including proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience using the following tools: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Power BI and Power apps.
  • Experience in developing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping.
  • Experience using the following tools: Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visual Studio (ASP .NET C#), SQL Server. Experience in the development and implementation of population database systems (such as registrations, census or surveys);
  • Experience in systems analysis and development, data modelling and SQL programming.
  • Anticipates and prepares response to changing IM needs of the relevant organizational unit.
  • Previous work in UN or International Organization as cluster IM.
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Ensures application of institutional financial policies and guidelines
  • Advocates incorporation of financial considerations into processes and procedures
  • Effectively applies knowledge of relevant financial discipline.
  • Develops / follows internal control procedures to prevent fraud and mismanagement.

 

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in English, Kurdish, and Arabic
  • Working Knowledge of other Iraqi language(s) is an advantage.
