About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a Senior International Compliance and Systems Coordinator to join the International Admissions (Future Student) team. This position reports to the Senior Manager, International Admissions Systems & Compliance. This position will support systems development and lead two staff to contribute to the University meeting compliance requirements associated with the admission of international students. The position will work with internal stakeholders such as Academic Services Division (ASD), Faculties and Information Technology Services (ITS). 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide expert advice on systems to ensure continuous improvements incorporate relevant compliance standards, and University policy and quality objectives for international students.

  • Provide leadership and apply sound judgement of the implementation of legislation, University policy and compliance standards for international students.

  • Proactively support the Senior Manager, International Admissions Systems and Compliance to identify and manage compliance risks.

  • Contribute to increasing the profile of International Admissions (IA) within the University by promoting awareness of compliance policy and legislation in international admissions.

  • Support the management of internal and external stakeholders in the area of compliance for international admissions with the ability to influence and negotiate.

  • Consolidate relevant compliance information for effective and efficient access by the IA team and UQ stakeholders.

  • Build and manage relationships with relevant external bodies to help manage risk.

  • Undertake data analysis to recommend entry requirement changes.

  • Contribute to data management, reporting and improving data integrity.

  • Supervise two International Compliance Officers to ensure UQ maintains compliance requirements.

This is a Full-time, 100% FTE, Continuing (Permanent) position. At HEW Level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649.64 – $105,244.58 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $113,080.08– $123,136.15 per annum. 

About You

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; extensive relevant industry and specialist experience in compliance requirements within the International Admissions.

  • Excellent communication, management and stakeholder management skills, and cultural intelligence to deliver a high level of service, with the ability to implement and coordinate compliance initiatives and projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff, and to operate with a high level of efficiency in a high volume, high pressure and ever-changing environment, and to apply sound judgement in decision-making to support core business and minimize risks in compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of compliance, policies and procedures, and entry requirement management in International Admissions.

  • Agile in the face of operating with various technology, policy and legislative changes relevant to International Admissions.
