IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Senior International Programme Executive (SPE)’ to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in Birmingham. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.
The SPE is a member of the senior management team, reporting only to the Director of International Programmes. At the request of the Director the individual will be delegated to lead on special change management projects/programmes/ initiatives and lead on high-risk incidents which may result in travelling abroad at short notice. They will coordinate critical issues and find essential information that are important for the Director so that the division achieves its goals and objectives. The postholder will be expected to show leadership by stepping into a range of senior roles when requested to by the Director of International Programmes.

The successful candidate must have or be:
- Work experience and proven track record of working with an International NGO as a senior manager.
- Degree or equivalent in social economics / development studies / social sciences.
- Demonstrated knowledge of complex data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
- Demonstrated experience of effective representation at senior level.
- Substantial experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management at regional level.
- Demonstrate experience of writing quality pieces of work that are usable by non-specialists.
- Knowledge and experience of managing a crisis requiring sudden and major change in priorities and rapid management action to respond. This includes risk management approaches.
- Demonstrated knowledge of complex data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
- Knowledge and experience of working successfully with and leading senior managers to deliver major change projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of key trends in international development, and of the evolving role of international NGOs.
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Able to travel at short notice.
- Ability to work under pressure and to short deadlines.
- Ability to bring teams together and build rapport quickly.
