The Senior Investment Portfolio Specialist, in coordination with the Lead and the Director, manages and monitors the performance of direct equity investments, both public and private, to ensure higher returns generation within a defined risk profile. The role conducts advanced analyses and provides necessary inputs and support for the proper reporting of the bank’s investments performances.
Key Accountabilities:
Investment Portfolio Management:
- Monitor the performance of each of the allocated investee companies. Prepare in-depth analysis of the investee companies.
- Define and execute EXIT strategies. Lead and coordinate the intervention of all required stakeholders to successfully meet the objective.
- Participate in the portfolio management tasks of the Equity Investment team, including in preparing the monthly reporting and in the regular valuation efforts.
- Progressively build a sectorial/regional equity investments expertise.
- Monitor performance expectations set on financial returns based on relevant benchmarks as per Investment Policy statement.
- Conduct technical analysis and prepare detailed portfolio review reports for submission to the management.
- Prepare various status update reports on investee companies, performance reports of the equity investment portfolios, market trends analysis and potential impact on the investments.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the Investments data in the relevant systems of the Bank.
- Update portfolio information and reconcile all transaction records in a timely manner.
Operational Excellence Support:
- Provide technical guidance and review the work delivered by lesser experienced team members.
- Ensure effective implementation and adherence to the respective policies, procedures, and controls so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Keep abreast with the latest developments, regulations and best practices in the field and propose improvements in IsDB.
- Provide necessary inputs in the preparation of the Department Budget and in monitoring the actual expenditure against the approved budget.
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics/business administration/finance/ Investments or related discipline.
- Certification in Financial Analysis, Investment, Portfolio management preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Asset Management/ Investment Banking, of which 4 years in Investment/Asset Management.
Skills & Necessary Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of Investment Markets in the relevant Asset Classes.
- Advanced knowledge of investment risk-return assessment.
- Advanced knowledge of Financial Analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of Optimal Portfolio Theory.
