Overview of position:
CTG is looking for qualified candidates for our operations, whose experience matches the details as shared in this terms of reference.
Role objectives:
Plans, develops & coordinates emergency logistics operations for the Gaza humanitarian crisis. This includes resource allocation, sourcing, supplier management, inventory logistics, distribution channels, forecasting, supply chain initiatives, flow & process management.
Develops & ensures the efficient implementation of logistics plans, managing uninterrupted & effective logistics functions.
Ensures compliance with quality control for supplies & materials both in transit & upon receipt in Gaza.
Coordinates with the procurement department to liaise with donors, suppliers, shipping companies, insurance providers, customs, port authorities, border controls & government authorities to facilitate the supply chain into warehouses in the Gaza strip.
Manages the receipt, storage & distribution of all basic commodities for emergency programs.
Oversees the pre packing of food rations & implements internal control frameworks to ensure accountability.
Acts as the Emergency Property Management Officer, overseeing asset control & managing the logistics for the sale or donation of surplus, obsolete or unserviceable stock.
Oversees stock warehousing & asset management functions, serving as a secondary advisor on procurement & the principal advisor on logistics.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Project reporting:
This role reports to the Senior Deputy Director for Operations.
Key competencies:
Master’s degree or equivalent in supply & logistics management, procurement, business administration, public administration, or a related field, alternatively, a recognised bachelors level degree with an additional two years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the masters degree with a minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience in supply, logistics, procurement, contract management or supply chain administration in either the public or private sector, of these eight years, at least five should be directly related to hands on supply logistics & procurement at the international level.
Excellent command of both written & spoken English.
Must have good integrity & be professional & possesses strong respect for diversity.
Must have good communication skills, working with people of diverse backgrounds & strong drive for results.
Must be able to cope with pressure & setbacks & be able to decide & initiate action.
Team management:
Strong team management skills are required for this role.
