The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced Senior Manager who will be responsible for overall leadership, management and coordination of special and complex programs, including placed-based and bi-cultural initiatives and projects.
Senior Manager, Community Partnerships
For this role we are seeking someone who has demonstrated senior management experience in the not-for-profit sector, including managing multiple funding agreements, project management, change management and human resource management, and the ability to effectively lead and build high performing teams. The successful applicant will provide senior management for our regional work and bicultural programs working with South Sudanese and Pasifika communities.
The Senior Manager will take a lead on developing and maintaining multilevel stakeholder relations with government, non-government bodies as well as with communities and community groups. The role will work with and manage regionally dispersed teams in a manner that encourages and facilitates collaboration consultation, communication and teamwork. You will:
- Work closely with the Executive Manager, Programs and Services and the Executive Management Team, other Senior Managers, Program Managers, staff and stakeholders to ensure CMY’s programs and services are sustainable and make a meaningful difference to multicultural young people, families and communities.
- Provide strategic, program and quality leadership in implementing CMY’s Strategic and operational plans.
- Support, mentor and develop Program Managers and Team Leaders, and contribute to the ongoing development of CMY leaders.
- Identify and act on opportunities for new funding and growth of services to ensure CMY continues to meet the needs of the community.
- Continually build and enhance partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective, collaborative approaches to enhancing the strengths of multicultural communities and meet the needs of young people and their families.
- Hours: 38 hours per week (1 FTE), Full Time
- Fixed Term: until December 2025
- Base Salary: $130,000 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging

Key Selection Criteria
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to operate at both the strategic and operational levels
- Ability to consult and collaborate across an organisation with highly developed relationship management, influencing and change management skills
- Proven ability to negotiate and partner successfully with government, non-government and community stakeholders.
- Evidence of successful delivery of complex projects, including bi-cultural programs and place-based initiatives and partnerships.
- Agile management skills with the ability to respond to change and new opportunities including the ability to implement effective improvement strategies.
