As the Senior Manager, Global Health and Inclusion you will be pivotal to driving the long-term growth of Abt’s global health impact and approach to gender equity, disability, youth, and social inclusion (GEYDSI). You will play a key role in positioning Abt through raising the profile of Abt’s technical expertise and thought leadership, cultivating external partner relationships, as well as pursuing new business opportunities. This position will report to Senior Director, Global Health Practice with matrixed reporting to Senior Director, GEDSI.
Core Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of the Abt UK Health and GEDYSI growth strategies;
Working with the relevant lead strengthen Abt’s profile in health and GEDYSI with priority clients and partners building on existing, and cultivating new, partner relationships;
Contribute to thought leadership work in health and GEYDSI, including representing Abt externally at relevant conferences and events and development of technical publications and communications, to raise the profile of Abt’s experience and capability in this area;
Under the direction of the relevant lead support the identification of and design response to new programme opportunities. Provide input into, and at times lead, the management approach, technical design and commercial approaches of pursued work. Support finalising opportunities with clients, including negotiations on scope, pricing, and Abt roles;
Contribute to Abt’s internal understanding of relevant donor strategies, policies, budgets and programming at the global and country mission level to inform programmatic design, delivery and competitive positioning;
As needed, acts as programme manager/technical lead to Abt-led Health and GEDYSI programmes;
Model and reinforce Abt values in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility and fosters an environment to elevate and support Abt’s Vision, Mission, Values, Culture and Strategic Priorities.

8+ years of progressive experience in international health or GEYDSI. Experience of working on GEDYSI or health in LMIC highly desirable;
Familiarity with FCDO health and/or GEDYSI policies and strategies. Experience working as part of a team delivering FCDO programmes for 5+ years;
Specialisation in one or more of the following technical areas: health systems and policy, global health security, child health, nutrition, human resources for health, women and girls empowerment, GEDYSI financing or health and climate, is desirable;
Strong collaborator with experience in working as part of a team for providing client relationship management;
Experience in maintaining successful relationships internally and externally;
Prior experience working in highly collaborative, matrixed environments is desired;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Track record of supporting development of technical communications and publications is desirable;
Experience of working with Global Fund, European donors, Gavi, GEDSYI agencies like UNFPA, UNWomen, World Bank, is desirable;
Experience and expertise of working in conflict and fragile states is desirable;
Bachelor’s Degree + 9 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + 7 years of relevant experience.
