About us
The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The Senior Manager, Operational Implementation and Support is responsible for leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of family violence related operational services, practices and processes within the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.
The Senior Manager, Operational Implementation and Support leads the work of the Family Violence Branch in providing expert advice, initiatives, timely responses and support to judiciary, court operations, specialist family violence practitioners, and other court staff in the delivery and continuous improvement of specialist family violence court operational services, practice and processes.
The Senior Manager works effectively at a senior level, in a highly confidential, challenging and transformational work environment with a focus on the court user and is required to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior members of the judiciary, senior executives, court operations, Courts’ stakeholders and represent the Court at different forums.
Reporting to the Director, Practice and Operations, the Senior Manager is a key expert on Magistrates’ Court Family Violence operational practices and approaches, with strong project manager skills and has a leadership role within the Family Violence Branch. The Senior Manager leads a team to deliver this work.
About you
- Significant demonstrated experience in a leadership role within courts, the justice system, government or family violence sector
- Demonstrated extensive experience in successfully driving organisation change in a complex environment and influencing outcomes to achieve objectives
- Demonstrated expert program and project management leadership and delivery capability
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including flexibility and resilience in managing critical stakeholder relations.
- Experience in delivering projects and leading teams within the justice system, particularly the courts, is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, research and policy skills to effectively deliver projects and initiatives.
