The Senior Manager, Philanthropy will be responsible for identifying and stewarding prospective major donors, developing strong, mutually beneficial relationships and growing income from HNWI, PAFs and Philanthropic Advisors. The role will lead a regional team of major gift managers to engage and deepen relationships with philanthropic supporters across VIC, TAS, SA, WA and NT and establish new relationships to grow revenue. This newly-created role will suit an experienced best practice fundraising leader and key relationship manager who can develop robust pipelines, secure funding to meet revenue targets and is energised for growth.

Reporting to the National Manager, Philanthropy, you will focus on creating a strong pipeline and relationships with prospective major gift donors and business development opportunities through persuasive proposals, compelling communication materials and engaging events and program visits.

Your team management will include recruiting and inducting, managing performance, maintaining high standards and developing capability for each member. You will collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to create and respond to funding opportunities with high quality acquittal reports, aligned to the strategic plan. This role will also be responsible for supporting gift administration, preparing reports and tracking revenue.

About You:

  • 5+ years of management and relationship fundraising experience and an innovative approach to fundraising practice,
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding financial targets through attracting new philanthropic donors,
  • Experience in pitching and presenting to HNWIs and PAFs,
  • Demonstrated experience with Moves Management and strong understanding of using a CRM database,
  • Highly developed, engaging and professional written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders,
  • Excellent presentation skills along with outstanding ability to persuade and inspire,
  • Strong relationship building and management skills,
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing small to medium-sized teams,
  • Sound reporting and Microsoft Office Suite skills,
  • Broad knowledge of best practice major donor relationship management and the philanthropic landscape in Australia,
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline or demonstrated transferable skills in a similar role.
