This senior leadership role spans across the entire development capability of our ServiceNow Delivery Team, providing technical guidance and overseeing all Developers to deliver high quality solutions. If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.As our ServiceNow Development Lead, you are responsible for providing technical oversight and development subject matter expertise to the ServiceNow Delivery Team across our Transform, Grow and Run squads.The successful candidate will be fluent in ServiceNow development principles and must have significant hands-on ServiceNow development experience covering the full ServiceNow suite of products.Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a sizeable team of developers, investing your time in their development.
  • Provide oversight across the ServiceNow Product capability, which covers our Transform, Grow and Run squads.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across functions, NSE geographies and Global.
  • Liaise with Solution and Platform architects and COE Technical Design Authority to propose new solutions, demonstrating the art of the possible.
  • Oversee the administration, configuration, and customisation of new and existing ServiceNow modules and NOW scoped applications.
  • Champion development good practice to protect the platform (e.g. ensuring that advanced configuration does not impact system performance or the ability to upgrade in future)
  • Review development work done by the squads against leading practice.
  • Support Platform and Solution Architects in creating detailed application architectures.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations, raising risks, issues and dependencies as appropriate.
  • Define standards and drive maintenance of technical documentation relating to development and ways of working.
  • Document solution notes to guide squads in how to deal with novel developments, configuration, and customisation of new and existing ServiceNow solutions.

  • Proven track record in working with and influencing stakeholders at all levels and across multiple geographies, building and maintaining strong and effective relationships.
  • Delivery-focused, with experience using agile methodology to help teams establish an efficient delivery environment, leading with an innovative and continuous improvement mindset. Takes ownership of making decisions to optimise delivery.
  • An effective coach – ability to engage, motivate and support team members to become more effective in their role.
  • Experience of leading geographically dispersed teams, recognising importance of understanding cultural differences in building a one team approach.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading technical individuals.
  • Excellent development capabilities, with recent implementation experience.
  • Familiarity with the new features of the latest release of ServiceNow.
  • Extensive experience leading and providing oversight to a team of ServiceNow Developers.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in ServiceNow development and administration with proven track record in the design and development of complex, large-scale implementations.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing ServiceNow in ITSM, HRSD and scoped applications. Ideally also familiar with ITBM, ITOM and CSM.
  • Extensive experience of Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions and all scripted aspects of ServiceNow.
  • Experience of Low code development, Process automation designer, app engine and flow designer.
  • Up-to-date industry certifications including two or more of the following: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
  • Demonstrable experience integrating ServiceNow with other 3rd party or bespoke tools.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing version upgrades.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and documenting technical approaches aligned to development good practice.
  • Experience working with Agile software development and SCRUM methodologies.
