PSI anticipates playing a key technical role on an anticipated global health project. Over the life of the project, PSI will design and deploy solutions to overcome market barriers that limit access to critical commodities, including availability and affordability challenges impacting diagnostic and treatment products.

PSI is seeking a Senior Market Advisor to spearhead the design and execution of market assessments, analysis, market shaping solutions, demand forecasting, quantification strategies, and the establishment of a monitoring and evaluation framework.

Salary
Please note that those hired outside of the US will be employed through the local PSI office. Pay and benefits will be commensurate with the role and practices of the local office, including payment in local currency.

Responsibilities

Your contributions

  • Technical: Lead or manage the development of the project activities and strategy. Analyze evidence to determine best practices. Provide subject matter expertise in market analysis, dynamics, and market shaping to the department and project. Lead development and implementation of project workplans in collaboration with program management team. Manage report writing and development of technical guidance. 35% of Time
  • Representation: Engage with donors and represent PSI in external forums. Convey PSI’s work in written and verbal form. Participate in technical conversations and meetings convened by donors. 20% of Time
  • Thought Leadership / Knowledge Management: Engage with other departments within PSI and contribute to internal decision-making as a subject matter expert. Engage externally to represent PSI and demonstrate technical expertise, capacity and experience in a specific technical area. Develop new tools/frameworks or content for publications (e.g. blogs, manuscripts, etc.) that demonstrate PSI’s technical expertise and experience in a specific technical area. 15% of Time
  • Fundraising: Contribute to new business development by writing or reviewing proposals, as well as identifying new funding opportunities. May lead large and / or complex bids. 10% of Time
  • Program Management: Manage technical workstreams. Provide subject matter expertise while ensuring that all milestones and deliverables are met. 10% of Time
  • People Management: May manage people; provide coaching and mentoring to staff. 10% of Time

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field (e.g., MPH, MSc, MPP, MPA, MBA)
  • At least 10 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in relevant technical area.
    • Proven track record in leading comprehensive market assessments, analyzing pricing structures, and identifying market access barriers.
    • Possess a strong background in supply chain assessments, supply chain optimization strategies, and engaging with manufacturers to ensure a stable supply of essential commodities.
  • Bring demonstrated experience in assessing the effectiveness of market shaping strategies, leading continuous improvement efforts, and documenting lessons learned.
  • Ability to contribute to thought leadership in relevant technical area.
  • Ability to contribute to the internal and external body of evidence in relevant technical area.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to PSI network.
  • Ability to share knowledge internally and externally with global communities of practice; represents PSI externally.
  • Ability to solve problems with creativity and analyze complex issues using in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and considerable latitude for independent judgement to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external colleagues. Able to work as a member of a team and independently.
  • Ability to lead development of technical approach for proposals and identify potential new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365. Familiarity with a quantitative or qualitative data analysis program preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in a relevant language other than English preferred.
