England Athletics is the National Governing Body for athletics and running in England. About you:
We are seeking a dynamic, personable, and experienced marketing and communications professional to join our team. This role requires a minimum of five years of digital marketing experience, particularly within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track-record in developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies, leading corporate communications, and managing teams and budgets. Creativity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and positive team culture are essential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies.
  • Lead corporate communications and apply insights to marketing planning and delivery.
  • Plan and deliver user-led marketing campaigns and content plans.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, freelancers, and other content producers.
  • Build strong internal relationships and manage a marketing team.
  • Oversee budget management and ensure cost-effective marketing activities.

Specific Experience:
Required:

  • Minimum of five years in digital marketing.
  • Experience in a complex multi-stakeholder/membership environment.
  • Proven track-record of leading corporate communications.
  • Insight-driven marketing planning and delivery.
  • Experience managing marketing agencies, freelancers, and content producers.
  • Strong internal relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in line management and delegation.
  • Proficient in budget management.

Desired:

  • Experience in athletics, running, or the wider sports sector.

  • Effective teamwork skills for collaboration with geographically dispersed colleagues.
  • Initiative-driven, solutions-focused approach with attention to continuous improvement.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on ROI from marketing activities.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with CMS and email marketing systems is desirable.
