Position : Senior Mechanic
Location : Anbar
Function prerequisite:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior-level mechanic role.
- Familiarity with managing preventive maintenance programs for large fleets
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management software.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and vehicle codes.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of mechanics and apprentices.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with management, vendors, and team members.
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliability and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability to new technologies and willingness to pursue further training.
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems
- Handle complex repairs and provide guidance for troubleshooting unusual issues.
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanics, apprentices, and technicians, ensuring quality work and adherence to safety standards.
- Delegate tasks effectively, provide training, and oversee performance
- Monitor fleet performance and reliability.
- Provide the Fleet Officer with maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and costs.
- Provide weekly updates to the MTFM and Fleet Officers on vehicles servicing and maintenance status
- Monitor fleet performance and reliability, implementing preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and costs
- Ensure that all fleet maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections for compliance audits and operational transparency.
- Oversee inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure the workshop is fully equipped for routine and emergency repairs.
- Support Logistics in service providers tenders to ensure high-quality service for major vehicle maintenance and procurement of spare parts etc.
- Support strategic decisions related to fleet expansion, replacement, or the introduction of new technologies.
- Stay updated on advancements in vehicle technology, diagnostic tools, and industry trends.
- Introduce and implement new tools, techniques, and systems to enhance workshop productivity and fleet reliability
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Required qualifications:

Must have:
- High School Education
Desirable:
- Certificate in fleet maintenance and/or management
Experience:
Must have:
- 5 years’ experience in the service and repair of diesel LGV
Desirable:
- Experience with Toyota LC, Hilux and Hiace
- Worked with Humanitarian NGO
