Senior Media Technician
Office of Information Technology
The Senior Media Technician supports users of AV and IT equipment in classrooms and event spaces; maintains
equipment; and collaborates with colleagues to ensure high quality services are delivered to the campus community, faculty needs are met and customer satisfaction is high.
The Senior Media Technician serves as primary technician in support of teaching and learning and campus events; the incumbent is an autonomous professional, expert in data entry, record keeping and documenting the work
using inventory systems such as Asset Panda and ticketing systems such as DeskPro.
This position will require a flexible working schedule in order to accommodate off hours course and event support.
Job Qualifications:
● BA/BS preferred.
● 3-5 years experience providing AV support or equivalent required.
● Experience with multiple platforms (Windows, iOS) required.
● Experience in academic computing support in higher education is preferred.
● Experience with project management is preferred.
● Working knowledge of AV equipment including troubleshooting skills.
● Strong foundation of understanding of signal flow and potential relationship with problems.
● Working knowledge of Crestron room control systems.
● Ability to administer/troubleshoot system via room touch panel and remotely via Toolbox.
● Familiarity with using a studio for media production and broadcast preferred.
● Familiarity with camera work and / or audio engineering preferred.
● Excellent customer service skills; strong commitment to customer service; and positive attitude required.
● Ability to apply problem-solving skills to meet the needs of customers in a quick and effective manner.
● Ability to prioritize tasks.
● Clean driving record.
● Excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to understand and present complex technical issues to a diverse customer base.
● Ability to work independently and proactively; work effectively in a group and as a member of a project team.
● Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
● Ability to coach, mentor and encourage colleagues, students and temp staff.
Successful completion of a criminal background check and education verification is required.
