About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Network Development team, to support the
team in managing a range of projects that will fix and grow the National Cycle Network in the
delivery of our Paths for
Everyone
strategy. 

As the Senior Network Development Manager, you will assist in the delivery of a
multi-million-pound budget each year, the role will oversee funding agreements with local
authorities and partners as well as supporting the preparation of programme and project
initiation documents for projects to be assigned to our Design & Engineering teams.

Managing a team of Network Development Managers and Officers and supporting the wider Network
Development team, you will ensure that the project delivery process is adhered to and developed
to allow the effective and efficient implementation of projects. 

The role will also require collaboration with Design and Engineering colleagues, project
managers and other functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a
nearest office hub in Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle. 

About you

You should have experience in leading, motivating, and managing a team, with the capacity to
support and develop others to the best of their abilities.

You will be experienced in project management frameworks principles and implementation. 

With excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to build relationships with ease
across a wide range of people, and experience of working in partnership with other groups
particularly within the public sector.

We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge and experience in transport planning or a closely
related field (e.g. engineering, urban design, construction management, land negotiation).
