IPRS Aeromed provide expert clinical solutions across a variety of specialist markets and sectors. We major in security-based environments including custody suites of magistrates and crown courts.

Our services are delivered by highly experienced Paramedics and Nurses lead by our in-house Clinical Team.

Senior Operations Manager

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience

Full driving licence essential

Based at IPRS Aeromed Operational Head Office, Gatwick. Some travel to locations where services are delivered will be required.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our team. As an important member of the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for ensuring proactive control and direction of the business, working with a unified, strategic focus that delivers the highest quality services to our clients and ensure all contracted KPI’s are met.

You’ll act as an ambassador for the company with responsibility for the overall day-to-day leadership and management of the Operations department and uphold high standards of professional appearance, conduct and performance and through positive actions and behaviours, set the culture for Operations area.

Based onsite in our Gatwick office and reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll ensure your colleagues work with a unified and collaborative approach that delivers the highest quality services to our clients

Key Responsibilities:

To lead and develop your direct reports and the wider Operations Team ensuring colleagues are fully supported and are focussed on supporting our clients with the highest quality of service and meeting all contractual KPI’s.

Review staffing resilience, colleague competency, single points of failure and devise suitable development plans, succession plans and other improvements to strengthen the structural management of the business.

Ensure the department is correctly resourced to meet current and forecast demand, recruiting new colleagues as required, in line with the budget. Review FTE following outcomes of Every Minute Matters and Staff Capacity Planning initiatives.

To support the Operations Director with strategic growth plans, contributing to the creation and delivery of the 3-year business plan, identifying and targeting new markets and managing new business tenders.

Work with the Operations Director to identify and exploit new markets that leverage the core strengths of the business. Take responsibility for writing new business proposals, completing RFI’s/RFP’s, and creating supporting budgets. Assist with client presentations. Oversee the onboarding of new business wins.

Conduct regular 1:1’s with direct reports and chair monthly Team Meetings with all Operations colleagues. Ensure all key discussion points and actions are documented and followed through.

Set your direct reports annual SMART objectives, with periodic reviews to check progress and provide any support or guidance that may be required. Ensure your direct reports do likewise with their colleagues. Ensure Perform is utilised effectively for all colleague meetings and appraisals.

Take a leading role in the delivery of key projects and organisational change to support new business wins and strategic growth opportunities.

Represent IPRS Aeromed at client & other key stakeholder meetings.

Work closely with the Clinical Lead to promote a ‘one company’ ethic providing continual support and collaboration between the Operations and Clinical teams.

Ensure that key projects are well-managed providing support, guidance, and input to achieve agreed deadlines and outcomes.

Requirements

Qualifications & Training:

Recruitment is mainly based on skills, behaviours, aptitude, and experience.

A formal Management or Leadership qualification is desirable but not essential.

Other formal management qualifications (i,e, Prince 2) desirable but not essential.

Experience & Knowledge

At least 4 years demonstrable evidence of successful leadership of a dynamic operations area.

Experience in driving improved culture and increase in colleague morale and job satisfaction.

Experience in identifying development opportunities in colleagues and ensuring they receive appropriate coaching and training that builds them to their full potential.

Strong experience of working on new business tenders, writing proposals and presentations, managing RFI’s/RFP’s, presenting to clients, and developing the budgets.

Experience in onboarding new business wins.

Skills & Abilities

Highly skilled at managing, leading, motivating and mentoring senior managers.

Ability to quickly assimilate new learnings, and rapidly establish a strong managerial presence

Ability to work under minimum supervision, act autonomously yet know when to escalate.

Excellent communication skills, gravitas, and ability to influence and negotiate with all stakeholders.

High degree of attention to detail with the ability to retain a strategic viewpoint.

Excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask, plan and prioritise workloads well and embed into the team.

Ability to create and analyse MI to provide clarity on key metrics to drive quality and productivity

Salary: £60,000 per annum dependent on skills & experience

Full Time Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) plus availability to receive any business-critical calls out of hours if required

Location: Based at IPRS Aeromed Operational Head Office, Gatwick. Some travel to locations where services are delivered will be required.

Full driving licence essential – Free car parking onsite

If successful, you will be required to provide consent for an enhanced DBS check and Home Office security clearance check to be carried out.
