In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind technical solutions that enhance application performance and bring agility and maintainability to the forefront of our applications portfolio. Your expertise in the OutSystems platform will be key in our Group Client Portal program, where you’ll coordinate with delivery and operation teams to ensure seamless and efficient software solutions.

Operating Network:
The Lending Middle Office Unit provides low-code and traditional software solutions to address the increasing needs of the organization and in particular, those related to business planning, lending middle office and customer experience.
 
You will report directly to the Head of Lending Middle Office Unit and will work in close contact with the unit’s Squad Leaders and Software Engineers. As part of its digital transformation, the EIB is initiating a Group Client Portal programme to build a new customer experience platform to digitalise external stakeholder transactions, interactions and relationship management.
What Will You Do:
  • Translate business requirements into viable and scalable applications using OutSystems, setting the standard for future development
  • Design layered applications that promote lifecycle independency, ensuring lower maintenance costs and higher reusability
  • Ensure seamless integration of applications with other systems, adhering to EIB Group’s enterprise architecture principles
  • Advocate for architecture patterns and best practices in user experience, coding standards, source control management, test automation, and more
  • Identify non-functional requirements and common style guides, evaluating new platform features for potential adoption
  • Lead and coordinate both internal and external development teams, ensuring delivery and maintenance of high-quality applications
  • Mentor software engineers, enhancing their skills and fostering a culture of excellence.
Qualifications:
  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor), preferably in relation to finance or information technology
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience as software engineer, architect or tech lead of which at least 2 years specialising in OutSystems
  • Experience using OutSystems in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of OutSystems engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers)
  • Hands-on experience in software development lifecycle, including leading technical teams
  • Experience in solution architecture design
  • Knowledge of other coding languages such as Java or .NET
  • Deep understanding of DevOps, test automation and agile practices
  • Would be considered as an advantage:
  • Experience developping an OutSystems customer experience application, a client facing portal or an internet-banking application
  • Exposure with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure
  • Experience in setting up and running an OutSystems centre of excellence
  • Knowledge of financial products
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French , with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
