The City of Sydney has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Planner to join our Planning Assessments team.

Reporting to the Manager Planning Assessments, you will develop, implement and oversee the City’s response to sustainability planning controls including, providing advice to applicants; input into assessments; follow up post consent sustainability commitments; employee training and creating resources; development of systems and processes.

In addition you will be responsible for the efficient and effective assessment of complex development related applications.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • tertiary qualifications at degree level in Urban Planning or a related discipline
  • experience in the assessment and resolution of complex planning, sustainability issues associated with development applications, preferably in local government
  • an ability to review and understand planning legislation and develop appropriate assessment responses.
