How can you make a difference?

The incumbent will  be in charge of the day-to-day financial management, analysis and reporting of Country financing activities of the Match Window  project and support on financial and data management, reporting, analysis and evidence generation for the overall Financing and Resource Mobilization activities related to country financing with respect to other programmes; as well as provision of accurate and timely data to support analysis of the Procurement Services global supply function and generation of evidence to measure the impact of the provision of procurement services and supply financing solutions to governments.

  • Performs financial management, operational and data support, country engagement, analysis, monitoring and reporting for the Match Window, ensuring the operations are in compliance with capital limitations, operating procedures and agreements requirements.
  • Supports in the country application process and prepares Chief’s submissions for Match Window’s applications.
  • Supports in the oversight of Match Window’s contributions, close monitoring of Match Window’s transactions and country follows-up.
  • Designs and prepares financial and progress reports for internal management and external donors and other third parties using VISION (SAP) reports, as well as through the development of appropriate EXCEL spreadsheets or ACCESS databases.
  • Focused customer service and provides support to internal and external stakeholders through active participation in different fora and training of staff.
  • Provide required statistics for Procurement Services ensuring accuracy of the data and analysis, creating the required tools for data validation.
  • Develop, standardize and improve tools and models for data analysis, including tools for data-validation, end-to-end performance management and monitoring for both procurement and supply financing, planning and reporting.
  • Further develop supply financing tools to ensure real-time monitoring of supply financing interventions, evidence generation for planning, harmonization of tools and consolidation of country data to enable monitoring and triangulation with forecast, and historical data.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of comprehensive Procurement Services forecast exercises to secure quality projections for the proper resource planning of the Division and Country Offices, including the generation and maintenance of relevant historical databases, monitoring of forecast materialization in terms of country and commodity, and the regular demand updates and follow-up with procurement centres and Country Offices.
  • Prepare analysis and design tools for real-time availability of data to support activities like forecast monitoring, country missions/visits, supply financing interventions, PS funding exercise, and for advocacy for supply-related opportunities and priorities, savings generated on behalf of countries.
  • Prepare analysis and reports as per reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests received from Partners.
  • Collaborate with the Market Strategic Data and Evidence Unit and Communications unit on Procurement Services data.
  • Prepare and maintain user manuals and documentation for the standard Procurement Services reporting, monitoring, and planning tools, including supporting training to users as applicable, as well as for Country Office reports.
  • Act as a back-up and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

The following minimum requirements:

  • Education: Completion of secondary education
  • Work Experience: Minimum seven (7) years relevant working experience, public or private sector with proficiency in use of data processing systems.
  • A Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree from a recognized academic institution may be considered in lieu of three or four years of related work experience respectively.
  • Language: Fluency in English and in particular excellent written communication skills

The following desirables:

  • Education: University course work or diploma in business, procurement, financial management or related field
  • Language: Working knowledge of another UN language (Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, Arabic).
