Job Description:Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways:
Your role in our mission…This Senior PR Officer role will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Marie Curie’s research, policy and campaigning work and our press office function. You will raise the profile of Marie Curie amongst key target audiences by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage. You will work with the media to share policy commentary, campaigns and build our brand.You will work closely with the National PR Manager as well as teams and departments within Marie Curie to strengthen our national voice and influence thinking around end-of-life experience and drive policy change through targeted media strategies.This role will involve analysing complex and varied written material e.g. statistics, research and policy reports, legislation etc, turning them in to viable and engaging news stories.This is a great next move for someone with substantial skills in public relations at in-house or agency, particularly with experience supporting a press office/newsroom function.Additional Criteria for Success:
