With a focus on parenting and family support, we work collaboratively with government agencies, community organisations, and practitioners to drive positive and sustainable change.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to internal advancement and continued growth, PRC are seeking a Senior Practice Design Specialist to join our team. The position will work across various projects to support the design and development of evidence-based programs, practices and/or resources to help bridge the knowledge-to-practice gap in parenting and family support.

We are looking for a person with exceptional practice skills and knowledge in a relevant field (psychology, social work or similar), who can apply evidence-based principles and strategies in the real world. This role requires substantial tacit knowledge (that comes with clinical or direct service experience), good clinical judgment, and support skills, together with a commitment to evidence-based practice.

You would be part of a multidisciplinary and dedicated team who work on diverse projects across knowledge translation, adaptation or design of evidence-informed practice and resource guides, frameworks, and training materials and implementation planning and support.

Examples of the types of work you’ll be undertaking include:

  • Undertaking needs/gap analyses in the child and family welfare or related sectors, identifying gaps and designing solutions fit for purpose.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, via workshops, forums or other means, to identify how existing practices/programs are intended to achieve positive outcomes for children and where there are gaps.
  • Working with subject matter experts and practitioners to propose, plan and co-develop practice support resources (e.g. practice guides, training resources, brief interventions) drawing on best practice and research evidence.
  • Developing training resources to support effective practices.
  • Managing and leading multiple projects from initiation through to completion
  • Engaging in feedback loops and evidence checks to ensure that the designed practices, practice elements and related resources are of high quality and are accepted and implementable by the target group.
  • Provide leadership and build high performing project teams whilst continuing to develop internal capability.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will ideally hold a post-graduate qualification in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health or other relevant fields, along with experience working with practitioners to increase their skills and knowledge.

You will have a strong philosophical commitment to the scientist‐practitioner model and be able to use your knowledge and expertise in evidence-based, best practice, in the development of practice frameworks, resource guides, training materials and the like.

You will have demonstrated experience working with and engaging stakeholders in collaborative design processes and be able to understand and incorporate diverse views into practice design, including the willingness to engage in a continuous quality improvement and feedback processes to continually trial and refine practices or resources as needed.

You have used a range of practice design strategies to develop practice resources for the early childhood, family support services and/or out of home care sectors.

With a proven track record in the ability to manage multiple projects from commencement to finalisation, you will have strong attention to detail and project management expertise.

Your exceptional written and verbal communications skills will ensure a high level of personal productivity and work impact, while your excellent interpersonal skills ensure your ability to design, adapt, and support the systematic application of practices and programs.
Experience working with diverse client groups, in addition to high-level knowledge and experience in areas such as child mental health interventions, child disability, child development or parenting support will be highly regarded.

ABOUT THE BENEFITS

The Parenting Research Centre is committed to supporting its employees to achieve a positive work/life balance, whilst working in an interesting and stimulating environment.

In recognition of your hard work and enthusiasm, you will be rewarded with host of benefits including:

  • Additional 1-week paid company leave (pro rata for part time employees)
  • Hybrid and flexible work arrangements
  • Award winning, purpose driven and highly engaged culture
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Organisational commitment to ongoing learning and development
