Job description
- You will define and design effective, usable and magical experiences, collaborating with other designers, technologists and strategists to bring those experiences to life.

About the role
Our product and experience designers take briefs from ambiguity to clarity. They use diverse discovery methods to build a deep understanding of user and business needs in service of designing usable, purposeful and functional experiences.
Your mission is to champion great user experience, digital or physical, on projects of any size and to use your expertise to bring that experience to life with great design.
You’ll blend research, design, content and strategy to create and test prototypes, low-fidelity concepts, and beta-ready products. Your work is marked by a solid foundation of user and business value, sound structure, and usability.
Your days will be spent
- Planning, facilitating and synthesising qualitative and quantitative research with users, stakeholders and clients
- Creating clear and compelling experience strategy through to actionable insights
- Defining navigation, taxonomies and content models for websites, apps and digital products
- Creating testable prototypes from low fidelity through to detailed wireframes
- Mapping user journeys and defining user tasks, needs and opportunities across experiences
- Working with clients to understand their needs and take them on the journey of a design process
Requirements
You will be able to demonstrate:
- 3-4 years experience in UX, digital or product design
- 2+ years working as part of a design and development team
- Proven skill in facilitation, research, client management and human-centred design methods
- Proven skill designing for screens:
- Well structured wireframes for responsive interfaces
- An understanding of how typography, hierarchy, colour and space enhance usability
- Working with developers and UI designers to bring experiences to life
- Excellent written and verbal presentation capability
- Be legally able to work in Australia without restriction or sponsorship
You will also bring:

About Today
We are Australia’s most awarded social impact agency.
We use design and technology to make change happen, at pace and at scale. In the last 12 months, we’ve designed and built Australia’s first online family violence intervention order, established a new approach to co-design for the Victorian mental health sector, built a peer-to-peer product that helps people learn Auslan, and launched a campaign to shift mainstream perceptions of climate change—plus many more.
