The Role:

Our Residential Care and Transition Services (RCaTS) team currently have a Fixed-term (through to 30 Sep 2024) full-time position for a Senior Program Manager. This role is located within Nudgee, however travel to other Mercy Community house locations will be required.

As a Senior Program Manager, you will have primary responsibility for the overall leadership of Therapeutic Residential Care Practice. You will be responsible for ensuring the Care Team Leaders are delivering consistent implementation of best practice strategies to ensure the needs of children, young people and adults are met, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential.

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must have:

  • A Tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline as well as relevant experience (qualifications must align with the Minimum Qualification Standards (MQS) for Residential Care in Queensland). However, applicants with a qualification compliant with the MQS and significant relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of theories relevant to Therapeutic Residential Care, including trauma and attachment theories.
  • Strong understanding of own practice framework and the ability to support others to develop theirs.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring senior staff and facilitating critical reflective practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of case management including Positive Behaviour Support Plans, Safety Plans and goals setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Residential Care and Transitions Services context
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Queensland child protection system.
  • Hold a Provisional Green (P2) or Open Driver’s License.
  • A current positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.

The position requires:

  • Regular travel across service catchment/delegated programs.
  • Participation in rostered after hours on-call support.
