Job Description
- Under the Education Program coordinator direct supervision, the SPM will take on a leadership role in overseeing the overall management and implementation of the IRC’s 4 implementing partners including but not limited to partner capacity assessment and capacity building.
- The SPM will directly monitor progress towards project goals and will closely oversee and track each deliverable with provincial leads and local IPs.
- Maintain close coordination with IRCs field coordinators/Deputy field coordinator to address challenges in implementation.
- Assist the Senior Education Coordinator in project modifications, reports finalizations and briefings.
- The SPM will conduct meetings with project stakeholders at central and provincial level on a regular basis to ensure that progress is shared.
- The SPM will directly oversee the budget utilizing Whitin the IRC procedures.
- He/She will coordinate supplies delivered to the field or IPs office with IRC supply chain unit.
- The SPM will directly manage project risks, resolve issues, and ensure the timely delivery of project milestones, working directly with IPs on
- a regular basis to track progress against targets, and indirectly reporting on a regular basis on
- progress against targets to the program management team. Additionally, the SPM will prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular written updates on the project’s progress, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned for the Education Coordinator and Senior Education Coordinator (SEC).
Main Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the GPE implementation for IRC’s 4 implementing partners in 5 provinces.
- The SPM will support on partners capacity assessment, developing capacity building plan for the partners based on the gaps and continuously capacity building them to ensure they are effective on all aspects of project delivery.
- He will be responsible for enhancing and fostering collaborations between local partners, IRC, and other stakeholders through facilitating regular communications platforms, organizing partner meetings, and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Ensuring IRC’s 4 national partners are on track with progress against targets, and that mitigation plans are developed with partners to course correct.
- Preparing reports and providing written updates to the Education Coordinator and SEC-IRC.
- Ensuring that the senior management is updated on all program implementation successes and challenges on a regular basis.
- Ensuring that implementing partners are provided with the technical and implementation support required to deliver GPE programming at provincial level.
- Supporting project management related capacity building for IRC’s 4 national AQBE partners.
Qualifications
- 5 years plus experience of Senior/project management experience in the education sector in Afghanistan
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, master’s degree is preferable.
- Experience with community-based education and education formal system support.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
- Wiling to travel and conduct field visits regularly.
