Context/Reporting line:
Under the general guidance of the Head, Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division, the overall supervision of the Senior Program Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator (legal advisor), the successful incumbent will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of IOM Peace Building and Stabilization Division in Iraq.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the Program Coordinator in the development, management, and implementation of legal assistance projects for displaced populations, especially those targeting women and girls, including the thematic areas of Housing, Land and Property (HLP), access to justice, civil documentation, facilitated returns and durable solution.
- Coordinate, plan and supervise activity implementation related to Women Legal Counseling centers.
- Promote the gender mainstreaming to the Project´s activities, as well as train other colleagues from the legal team.
- Supervise, guide and coordinate the work of other project assistants, in a signed area.
- Support the implementation of the Legal Program communications strategy, including the drafting of newsletters, success stories and other products.
- Coordinate the preparation of narrative reports related to assigned area.
- Maintain and strengthen effective cooperative relationships with key national and local counterparts (government and civil society) and international organizations.
- Prepare draft notes, invitation letters, agreements, contracts and other required instruments for the implementation.
- Ensure information sharing, coordination, and communication within the team.
- Provide technical support to the planning, organizing and delivery of conferences, meetings, seminars, capacity building actions, and relevant activities organized by the Unit.
- Other associated and relevant functions for the correct execution of the project assigned by your supervisor according to the needs of the position.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Management, Public Administration, or any related field from an accredited academic university or institute with 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience working in grants management is an advantage.
- Previous experience working in (inter)national non-governmental organizations is an advantage.
- Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including people of culturally.
diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent writing and reporting skills.
- Excellent facilitation and liaison skills
Languages:
- Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is required.
