Senior Project Assistant-CCCM

Context/Reporting line:

Under the overall supervision of the  Head,  Preparedness and Response Divisionthe administrative supervision of the Head of sub-office (HoSO), and the direct supervision of the Project Officer (CCCM), the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Assist in supervising, coordinating, and prioritizing day-to-day activities and monitor logistics requests, ensuring information collection and drafting reports as necessary as well as effective staff deployment, performance planning, and appraisals for supervisees.
  2. Support in Facilitating the establishment of camp committees whose members are representative of the camp population, with a specific technical or cross-cutting sector focus and cutting across agencies: Protection, Shelter, WASH, etc., and ensuring that representation takes into account Persons with Special Needs –Elderly, Youth, etc.
  3. Assist in drafting regular reports, assessments, and maintaining accurate records and documentation related to camp activities.
  4. Assistant in Preparing BoQs related to community mobilization activities and communication with community.
  5. Coordinate with CwC to ensure that feedback procedures and complaints mechanisms are in place, and forums are developed for the camp population to contribute to governance.
  6. Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by the line manager.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, social science, or any related field from an accredited academic university or intitute.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication, diplomatic, and motivational skills with project staff, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders in the area.
  • Excellent in Excel functions and formulas.
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-moving, multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work on unusual hours and cope with the pressure from emergency activities.
  • Relevant certifications, training, and project experience, specifically in camp management, are advantages.
  • Knowledge of local governance in post-conflict contexts and gender and inclusion strategies.
  • Good understanding of community engagement and social cohesion.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles and do not harm.

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
  • Working knowledge of any other language is an asset.
