Location: Colne Valley Park Visitor Centre, Denham, Nr. Uxbridge. (We would be willing to consider
hybrid working)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – we would be willing to consider part time working
Not-for-profit organisation Groundwork South have a unique role opportunity for someone to
use their technical and management skills to make a real difference to valuable river and
stream catchments by joining the rivers team on the River Colne and East Hampshire catchments,
driving and developing practical projects and community engagement for a more sustainable
future.
Summary of role: From internationally rare chalk streams in its rural
headwaters to a braided channel and numerous lakes in the Colne Valley Regional Park, the Colne
catchment is a special place with a diverse range of waters across parts of Herts, Bucks,
London, Berks and Surrey.
East Hampshire Catchment ranges from rolling chalk downland to the medieval Forest of Bere to
the coastal plain, which has significant nature conservation interest with broad enclosed tidal
harbours, extensive salt marsh, reed beds and wet meadows.
The post-holder will manage river restoration projects in these two catchments. (Initially the
work will mainly be in the Colne Catchment).
