  • Employment Type: Full time (35 hour week)
  • Duration: 2 year fixed term contracts
  • Remuneration: $106,351 – $115,103 + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working, work from home and from UNSW Sydney campus)

About The Kirby Institute:

The Kirby Institute is a world-leading health research institute at UNSW Sydney. We work to eliminate infectious diseases, globally. Putting communities at the heart of our research, we develop tests, treatments, cures and prevention strategies that have the greatest chance of success.

The Global Health Program (GHP) carries out multidisciplinary research and implementation projects aimed at improving the health of populations at higher risk of adverse health outcomes in Australia and in low- and middle-income countries. Our activities are co-designed and conducted in partnerships involving local stakeholders, government, affected communities, other research organisations and international collaborators, to ensure ongoing dialogue, shared understanding of research processes and outcomes, and the creation of new knowledge that informs policy and practice.

Why Your Role Matters:

As the Senior Project Officer – Cervical Cancer in the Asia-Pacific, you will play a key role within a dedicated team in the Global Health Program, providing high level practical and efficient project coordination for Cervical Cancer in the Asia-Pacific projects and key stakeholders.

The role entails providing project management, reporting and analytical support, developing communications, building key internal and external relationships, and developing/ consulting on key programs and projects.

The role reports to the Senior Program Manager – Cervical Cancer in the Asia-Pacific and has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Proven project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
