Job Description

What will a day in this role look like?

• You will be leading power system protection design projects and providing technical support on secondary systems and power generation (renewables) projects for a range of clients across New Zealand and Australia.

• Preparing technical and design reports, tenders and bid proposals, performing design reviews and verification of designs

• Developing and optimising design processes to increase efficiency of designs

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or similar

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the area of high voltage substation and power systems, including proven experience in transmission substation protection design, settings study, settings calculation, settings grading, producing settings report, CT/VT sizing and CT saturation check

• Able to independently prepare protection study reports, settings calculations document, and power system analysis reports

• Proven experience in producing settings files for various types of protection relays and using power system analysis tools such as Digsilent, Powertools, Etap, PSSE, Mathcad, etc.

• Proven experience in operating relay configuration tools such as Siemens DIGSI 5, SEL Accelerator, Micom S1, ABB PCM600, etc.

• Demonstrated experience in understanding of high voltage substation control schemes and SCADA interfaces associated with protection schemes
