An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Publicity Manager to join the award-winning, dynamic and collaborative Transworld publicity team to cover a period of parental leave.The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced book publicist for a 12-month contract, to start in November 2024. Joining a team of nine, you will take responsibility for a blend of established and debut authors and will report into the Deputy Publicity Director. At Transworld, we are the proud publishers of some of the biggest and most exciting names across fiction and non-fiction publishing, from Elliot Page and Alison Hammond to Sophie Kinsella, Jo Thomas, Lee Child and Belinda Bauer.You will get to work with some of the most creative publishing colleagues in the business in a friendly and inclusive environment.You can expect to:Independently create, plan and drive strategic media and events campaigns for major titles including brand fiction, debut fiction and commercial non-fiction projects.Promote books and authors through social media, digital channels, print and broadcast to ensure coverage and generate sales.Communicate effectively with internal departments, including sales and marketing, editorial, rights and international colleagues.Maintain and develop excellent relationships with high-profile and influential stakeholders, such as authors, agents, journalists and global publishing partners.Actively research the current marketplace to maintain excellent awareness of trends and to identify and engage with target audiences.Candidate ProfileYou’ll have a proven track record of independently producing standout book publicity campaigns in a publishing environment and will bring a digital-first mindset to the role. With experience of creating and delivering successful strategic media campaigns that connect with consumers, you will be confident writing engaging press materials, organising large scale events, and will be a high-level networker with the media. You will be a self-starter with the ability to manage concurrent campaigns.What you’ll bring to the role:Have excellent communication skills and be confident pitching and presenting internally and externally.Be well networked with media contacts and influencers and be knowledgeable and curious about all forms of media and what turns the dial.Be highly organised with excellent time management to juggle concurrent campaigns with different lead times.Demonstrate analytical ability and financial awareness for your campaigns.Think in innovative and creative ways to create buzz behind our book, always with your eye on the activity that truly drives book sales.Demonstrate best-in-class author and agent care.Application InstructionsPlease apply with a CV and cover letter (addressed to Becky) telling us what appeals to you and what you would bring to the role by midnight on Sunday 28th July. The role will be based in our office at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms. Transworld colleagues are typically in the office two to three days per week.
