Senior Quality Engineering Lead (Jmeter, NFT) – Banking – Edinburgh

Day rate: £450 – £650 (inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months

Hybrid: 2 days per week

Job Description:

My client is looking for a Senior QE Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our software solutions. You will lead a team of quality engineers and collaborate closely with stakeholders to drive the implementation of quality engineering best practices across our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
• Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies using tools such as Loadrunner, Jmeter, Selenium, etc.
• Define and manage Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) for large-scale programs and projects.
• Provide Senior Stakeholder Management by effectively communicating testing progress, risks, and issues to senior management and project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for performance testing, scalability testing, reliability testing, availability testing, usability testing, and security testing.
• Analyze performance metrics and analytics to identify performance bottlenecks, areas for optimisation, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, availability, usability, and security of our software solutions.
• Utilise infrastructure knowledge to optimise testing environments and infrastructure configurations for performance testing and NFT testing.
• Demonstrate an understanding of event-based, big data, and cloud systems architectures.
• Conduct NFT testing of event-based, high throughput, private/public cloud systems to validate performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in quality engineering, performance testing, and NFT testing.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, performance testing, and NFT testing.
• Proven experience with performance testing tools such as Loadrunner, Jmeter, Selenium, etc.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and team management skills.
• Strong experience in Senior Stakeholder Management and NFR test management & reporting for large programs.
• Proficiency in performance metrics and analytics.
• Experience with scalability, reliability, availability, usability, and security testing.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure concepts and technologies.
• Familiarity with event-based, big data, and cloud systems architectures.
• Experience with NFT testing of event-based, high throughput, private/public cloud systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications in quality engineering, performance testing, or NFT testing are a plus.
