Their success is built on strong partnerships, experienced professionals, and a dedication to safety, innovation, and performance.As their business continues to grow, they are looking to recruit a highly capable Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the delivery of key infrastructure projects.Role OverviewOverseeing one additional Quanitity Surveyor, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will take a leading role in the commercial and financial management of multiple projects from procurement through to final account. Working from the Gateshead office, with occasional travel to project sites, you will ensure accurate cost control, contract administration, and risk management while supporting a collaborative and high-performing delivery team.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS professional looking to make an impact within a forward-thinking and supportive company.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all commercial and contractual elements of assigned projects, ensuring full compliance with relevant procedures and contract terms.Lead cost estimating, tender preparation, and subcontractor procurement activities.Monitor project budgets, conduct regular valuations, and produce monthly financial reports.Identify, value, and manage variations, compensation events, and claims.Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure alignment on commercial goals.Support the mentoring and development of junior commercial staff.Contribute to the continual improvement of commercial processes across the business.RequirementsA minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects (e.g. highways, utilities, groundwork).Strong working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract frameworks.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.High level of attention to detail and commercial awareness.Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g. Excel, CATO, or Causeway).What’s on OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for career progression within a growing regional businessHybrid working optionsA positive and collaborative team environmentOngoing training and development opportunitiesIf you are interested in this position, then please apply via this job board.Apply now for further details and immediate consideration for this Senior Quantity Surveyor roleNavartis are an equality and diversity recruitment agent and employer.Services advertised by Navartis are that of an Employment Agency/Business.
