HopeBox: A Contribution for the orphaned adolescent girls to Claim their Choices to Improve Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Knowledge and Practices study of icddr,b aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realize rights among orphan adolescent girls in Bangladesh. The study will be focusing on designing and developing HopeBox to teach SRHR issues among orphan adolescent girls.
The Senior Research Assistant will be reporting to the Principal Investigator and responsible for providing technical support for conducting the formative and implementation part of the study. S/he will involve in writing a scientific report, protocol and manuscripts within the extent of the organization’s guidelines, visiting field sites and collecting both qualitative and quantitative data, processing data and data management works of programme; design and develop the content of the HopeBox, analyse and visualize the performance of the data; analyse and interpret data; and carry out logistic and administrative necessities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist literature review, making project progress matrix;
  • Assist protocol development activities;
  • Circulate new protocol drafts internally and externally, seek feedback and assist modification process accordingly;
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative interviews; transcript and assist data analysis using various software
  • Prepare presentation slides and presentations in different scientific forums;
  • Write study reports and articles for peer-reviewed journals.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Young, bright individuals who meet the following criteria and are aspiring to develop their career as public health researchers in the research-based environment at icddr,b are encouraged to apply.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health/Applied Statistics/Anthropology/Social Science/ Epidemiology/Development Studies from a reputed institute with excellent academic records.
  • At least 3 years of experience in public health (preferably in adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights) with strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Must have evident experience of building and managing collaboration, and effective networking. 
  • Candidates who demonstrated exceptional research skills and/or have publications in international peer-reviewed journals with significant contributions will be given preference.
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to identify substantive problems that threaten to the research activities, and creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently
