Senior Bioinformaticians Roles

The Genomics and Bioinformatics Core (GBC) within the Institute of Metabolic Science – Metabolic Research Laboratories at the Clinical School, University of Cambridge are recruiting 3 senior bioinformatician specialists to create a dynamic new team.

The GBC provides analytical and data management support to research groups within the Metabolic Research Laboratories (MRL). This covers aspects of genomics such as genome sequencing and single cell approaches, in addition to broader data integration efforts across multiple types of ‘omics data.

 

Data Manager – This role provides technical leadership, project management, and oversight to all data management activities in the GBC.

Applicants must have a PhD level education or equivalent experience.

Senior Statistical Geneticist – This advertised role provides analytical expertise in the design, implementation and interpretation of projects utilising human genetics data.

Applicants must have a PhD in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or closely related fields.

Senior Bioinformatician – (Single cell/Transcriptomics) – This role provides analytical expertise in the design, implementation and interpretation of projects utilising transcriptomics data, including single cell/single nuclei and spatial transcriptomics.

Applicants must have a PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or closely related fields.

All 3 positions are fixed term Senior Research Assistant (SRA) positions (REF returnable) with funding available until 31.03.2030 and are available with immediate effect.
