About the Role

We wish to recruit a  part-time Senior Research Fellow to provide engagement with labour market enforcement agencies and regulators. The Work, Informalisation and Place Research Centre at Nottingham Business School is one of the UK’s leading research teams focussing on labour market non-compliance, related coercion, exploitation, and the potential for modern slavery in the workplace. The Centre has secured UKRI funding as well as research grants from the UK’s Director of Labour Market Enforcement, the Home Office, and the National Crime Agency. We are looking for a researcher who can generate their own research projects, support on-going research projects, and engage with enforcement agencies and regulators so as to improve the Centre’s impact potential. The main tasks  of the post holder will include:-

  • Practice, engagement, and impact support in funding applications
  • Administrative, practice, impact, and research  support for the director of centre and the wider research team
  • Active engagement and involvement with enforcement agencies and regulators
  • Self-started pump-priming research projects

You’ll bring expertise on UK labour market enforcement agency and regulatory frameworks and experience of engaging with and overseeing policy-oriented research. The post is intellectually demanding and stimulating with excellent prospects for both publication and impact. A broad understanding of social sciences, excellent literary skills, the ability to appreciate and engage in new areas of research, and a keen interest in the practice and communication of research impacts are essential.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We will still consider applications even if you do not meet every single one of the requirements, so do not be put off if you do not match them perfectly.
