The Program of Enteric Infections and Vaccines under the Infectious Diseases Division conducts research with Mucosal Immunology and Vaccinology Unit (MIVU) for immunological and molecular genomic analyses for different enteric organisms. To achieve this goal icddr,b is working for controlling enteric infections, detecting and controlling emerging and re-emerging infections with the collaboration of the relevant government and non-government stakeholders.
The Senior Research Investigator reporting to the Scientist will be required to plan and implement research projects, supervise research teams, ensure high-quality data collection and ethical standards, organize training for research teams on standard operating procedures, increase the capacity of teams to conduct population-based research, and coordinate research studies with government and non-government partners within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values and guidelines.
The specific areas of responsibilities include:

Create detailed project plan covering milestones, deliverables etc.
Collaborate closely with the research team to develop work plans;
Create detailed research design, methodology and SOP to achieve the study objectives;
Develop and test research methodology in order to conduct research;
Prepare report, PowerPoint presentations and share findings with the supervisor to execute activities in accordance with project plan;
Train junior research staff on data collection methods, research design, and scientific writing;
Provide comprehensive training, supervision, and continuous monitoring of the research activities;
Design and execute meticulous data cleaning procedures for research datasets;
Develop research proposal and prepare the report. Conduct peer reviews of manuscripts of other researchers in order to support scientific manuscript creation.
Support the Principal Investigator (PI) in proposal, protocol, and manuscript writing.
Engage directly with stakeholders for effective collaboration and communication.
Facilitate IRB approvals for different research projects, conduct and facilitate training/workshops and disseminate research findings with different stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Academic Qualifications:

Master’s in Public Health with MBBS is required.

Experience:

At least 8 years of working experience in public health with strong interpersonal and excellent communication.
Experience in working with enteric diseases including cholera and typhoid fever surveillance and vaccination. Working with oral cholera vaccine (OCV) and Typhoid vaccine related project will get preference.
