About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hard-working nurse to join our existing team to undertake clinical research in respiratory diseases. You will work closely with the Research Nurse Manager and be jointly responsible for co-ordinating and managing the team of Research Delivery staff based at ORTU, providing professional guidance and day to day management support. Responsibilities will include selection, development, revalidation, and performance review of staff in the team. Through our collaboration with the Oxford Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit, we are also supporting the national PANORAMIC trial investigating novel antivirals in COVID-19. Co-ordination and the provision of care for participants on the trials, the collection and preparation of biological samples and collection of trial data are key elements of the role.
About You
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day day to day supervision of the team, in conjunction with the Research Nurse Manager, providing professional guidance as required. They will be expected to accurately document data collected into the case report forms and ensure that clinical study recruitment records are accurately maintained. They will also need to have:
- Experience and knowledge of clinical research and working within research guidelines.
- Experience in identifying and solving issues that may arise and demonstrable ability to pre-empt and address problems before they occur.
- An ability to work to a high standard in an organised and effective way, with excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness and enthusiasm towards working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in delivering research and care.
You will be an NMC Registered Adult Nurse. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills. It is desirable to have knowledge and experience of respiratory medicine, as well as Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
