The Initiative for Climate Change and Health within the Health System and Population Studies Division focuses on addressing health risks related to climate change and increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate-related risks by designing and testing adaptation models.

Position Descriptions:

The Senior Research Officer will report to the Scientist and will be responsible for designing and implementing data collection & data management activities, preparing analytical tables, graphs and presentations, management and analysis to attain study objectives of conducting high-quality research within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values. S/he will be involved in –

  • Develop data collection tools, metrics and detailed work plan for data collection;
  • Identify and apply appropriate sampling frame and study design for surveys;
  • Develop data entry screen/ Open Data Kit (ODK);
  • Develop training modules and facilitate training/workshops on statistics and/or statistical software;
  • Train people on data collection; supervise data collection; and monitor quality of data collected;
  • Prepare coding instructions, and develop cleaned and merged data files;
  • Check Consistency among the study variables;
  • Manage and analyze quantitative data; monitoring and evaluation of intervention.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Masters of Science in Applied Statistics/Statistics/Social Science/Population Science/Climate Change/Public Health/Computer Science from a reputed university with good academic records;
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis. Candidates will be given preference who have working experience in multidisciplinary teams, longitudinal data analysis and developing web-based software;
  • Training and experience in computer and statistical programming languages, such as STATA, R, Python, and JavaScript, as well as familiarity with Google Earth Engine and developing web-based software will get preference;
  • Training and experience in public health, epidemiological study design, and advanced statistical analysis will get preference.
