A bit about the role
We are looking for community resilience leader to embed Council’s Resilient Wyndham strategy actions within the organisation and local community. The successful applicant will be working in a motivated team of policy, strategy, community engagement, behaviour change and community infrastructure specialists.
What you will deliver
- Build partnerships with the community and stakeholders, including local groups, residents and businesses to prepare for change and achieve a sustainable and resilient future.
- Build community capacity and resilience for a Wyndham community that is self-sufficient and connected as it relates to the functions of the organization.
- Provide specialist advice in relation to city resilience, embed resilience thinking and practice across Wyndham City strategies, programs, and services.
- Lead community resilience education campaigns and community engagement programs as they relate to the Resilient Wyndham Strategy, including the annual Green Living Series.
- Identify internal and external funding opportunities and prepare business cases for the implementation of community resilience projects and programs.
- Provide input, implement, monitor, and evaluate Council strategies as they relate to community resilience.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated knowledge of city resilience, community resilience and/or sustainability practices.
- Substantial knowledge of and familiarity with the principles and practices of budgeting.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivery community education and behaviour change programs
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Policy, Education, Economics or related field with several years of subsequent relevant experience at a senior level
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude.
