As the Senior Salesforce Developer, you will work closely with the organisation and technical teams to develop new functionality, assist with critical bug fixing, assist with Deployments, and provide technical consultation for Good Shepherd’s Salesforce platform. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of both new and existing solutions on the Salesforce platform to meet the needs of the organisation.

This is a new role within the newly established IT’s Digital Operations team to support Good Shepherd in the ongoing realisation of their investment in the Salesforce platform. The Salesforce platform forms the basis of how Good Shepherd supports their clients, stakeholders and ensures that the client is at the centre of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring software/integration/data migration components are built to align to the organisation’s objectives.
  • Developing prototypes and wireframes for design discussions.
  • Configuring out-of-the-box functionality, and where necessary writing and implementing efficient, quality code, that aligns to development principles.
  • Use version control software, Git and advanced CI/CD tooling using Sandbox based development.
  • Co-ordinate DevOps and CI/CD workstreams with our delivery partners and system administrators, from design through testing and deployment.
  • Unit testing components that the developer (you) has created or amended.
  • Participate in ‘Go-Live’ support and testing activities.
  • Provide operational support to Good Shepherd via supporting production code changes, deploying custom scripts and actively managing metadata in the post-delivery environments.
  • Creating technical documentation for reference and reporting, including technical specification, security design, and data dictionary.
  • Periodically develop / maintain the Azure integration layer to support the changes made in Salesforce and other integrated systems. 

ABOUT YOU

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer with strong experience with Salesforce platform integrations/implementations, programming languages (Apex, Visualforce) and frameworks (Lightning Component, Lightning Design System) and strong expertise with declarative Salesforce Platform development tools such as Process Builder, Visual Workflow, Debugging with the Developer Console, Lightning App Builder, etc.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in Salesforce development, strong knowledge and experience working in Sales, service, and experience clouds.
  • A firm grounding in the Agile methodology with experience in continuous iteration of software development and testing (code coverage) combined with knowledge of collaboration tooling (JIRA/Confluence), and experience DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, force.com Migration Toolkit & Salesforce DX
  • Experience in building Web Service enabled applications, APIs (SOAP and RESTful) and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience of Visualforce, Apex and web services.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering efficiency and improvements through automation.
  • Proficient in Salesforce Architecture and solutioning following Salesforce best practices.
  • Experience developing Lighting Component and Experience Cloud sites.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Salesforce, its capabilities, and challenges.
  • Good experience of SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language) and SOSL (Salesforce Object Search Language)
  • Proven experience working with cloud infrastructure services and data applications, with exposure to Microsoft Azure
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • A satisfactory International Police Check (if you have resided outside of Australia within the last 5 years)
  • A current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or state equivalent
