Senior Science Officer 

The Kyle of Sutherland District Salmon Fishery Board are seeking to employ a Senior Science
Officer to join a small but experienced fisheries team based in Ardgay, Sutherland. Five
important and famous salmon rivers flow into the Kyle of Sutherland, namely the Carron,
Cassley, Evelix, Oykel and Shin. The fisheries play an important economic role in a rural
community. The role encompasses a wide variety of tasks including monitoring the status of
salmon and sea trout stocks, developing and delivering habitat improvement and restoration
projects, and handling the resultant data to produce reports. The successful candidate will
also work closely with employees of the Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries Trust.

Remuneration is expected to be in the region of £45-£48k per annum plus 5% pension
contribution.
