Position Role Type: Onsite

The Logistics Senior Supervisor will be responsible for the overall execution of the Logistics function at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds MD Facility. The Logistics Senior Supervisor will be responsible for the safe day-to-day operation of the various logistics activities in order to meet and exceed customer requirements and developing/implementing logistics strategies to meet and exceed established service level commitments. The Logistics Senior Supervisor must establish a collaborative work relationship with the site Property Senior Supervisor as he/she may be the face of Logistics and Property in the assigned facility. The Logistics Senior Supervisor oversees and supports the execution of continuous improvement of standard logistics processes relating to the safe receipt, storage, distribution and shipment of material at the facility. The Senior Supervisor must be able to build relationships with strategic internal customers in order to service the overall site needs. Having the ability to understand and use RI&S business systems to drive improvement as well as to anticipate and resolve issues is important to success in the position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Continued support and progressive evolution of the safety culture in Logistics and the site overall

Identifying and supporting the development of continuous improvement through Raytheon 6Sigma in all areas of Logistics operations

Work on cross functional teams to improve functional/site performance in order to support both internal and external customers

Serve as a point of contact for Logistics related issues on a site level

Ability to effectively communicate with many levels of the organization through both written and oral communication

Establishing and ensuring consistent adherence to policies and procedures within Logistics

Developing functional goals and sponsoring personal and professional development of the Logistics team

Identifying issues and recommending potential solutions and support of projects by removing obstacles both internally and externally to the function and organization

Analytical thinking; proactively identify potential problems and work cross-functionally to develop solutions

Actively manage metrics such as safety and performance indicators to ensure service level commitments are achieved

Sponsor or lead continuous improvement projects such as R6s, lean, or innovation

Manage key performance metrics within the Logistics function

Create and manage to labor/labor pools and non-labor budgets

Critical Skills Needed:

  • Willingness to travel as required- 10%
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, FAR, DFAR and MMAS as pertaining to inventory requirements
  • Working knowledge of SAP functionality related to Logistics operations
  • Change Management skills
  • Strategic team leadership skills
  • Effective Communication Skills – Ability to effectively listen and communicate both orally and in writing with all internal and external customers as well as all levels of management
  • Experience with personal safety and protection policies and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Power Point

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
  • Experience in SAP PRISM/APEX or similar business system
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment; managing multiple priorities and adapting strategic direction to tactical applications
  • Experience working with internal customers, program Senior Supervisors, material program Senior Supervisors, Government representatives and senior level management
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with establishing SMART performance goals
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Expanded knowledge of FAR, DFAR and related regulations as they apply

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD – 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
