GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking a Senior Skilled Trades Specialist to travel statewide on a weekly basis, managing and directing construction and maintenance activities of Wyoming Game and Fish facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
- Completes scheduled, deferred, and routine maintenance as well as requested office and building modifications and construction projects. Projects include roofs, plumbing, heating, siding, window, painting, staining, sprinkler systems, doors, flooring, insulation, drywall, gutters, electrical, concrete, etc.
- Manage and direct subordinate contract trades workers in the construction and maintenance of Wyoming Game and Fish facilities, including regional offices, game warden stations, fish hatcheries, rearing stations, Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp, Bighorn Sheep Center, and others.
- Maintains accurate records, job reports, and photo logs of progress on projects and each individual facility.
- Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with supervisor on a regular basis to determine work progress and flow.
- Orders and maintains an inventory of project materials.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of building and construction trades work.
- Skill in operating and maintaining equipment associated with construction, building trades, and grounds maintenance.
- Skill in placing and finishing concrete.
- Skill in performing rough and finish carpentry.
- Experience in performing maintenance plumbing and maintenance electrical work.
- Experience in reading/interpreting plans and blueprints.
- Knowledge of building planning, construction, and supervision of projects.
- Knowledge of structural and mechanical techniques used in the construction of buildings.
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance and utility distribution, repair, and emergency response.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Management)
Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Skilled Trades) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Skilled Trades Specialist OR
Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Skilled Trades) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Skilled Trades Specialist Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:None
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Statewide travel is required on a weekly basis, often for extended periods.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry objects of approximately 100lbs with regular bending, stooping, and working at tall heights.
NOTES
- FLSA: Non-exempt
