YOUR MISSION

  • Join CORRECTIV’s tech team as a senior developer in a multi-award winning public interest non-profit media house
  • Work at the forefront of redefining journalism
  • Empower communities by developing technology that supports local fact checkers, journalists, and community organisers
  • Build and develop the community engagement system (beabee) and the crowdsourced fact checking platform (Faktenforum)
  • Shape the vision and direction of Correctiv’s new tech team, and the overall tech strategy of the wider organisation
  • Develop core products using TypeScript with a Vue 3 frontend
  • Contribute to open source projects with a strong focus on privacy-by-design and data ownership principles
  • Access and contribute to the code for core products available on GitHub:

YOUR PROFILE

  • Team Player: Ability to work both independently and in a small team, managing your own time effectively
  • Experience: Proven track record in developing and maintaining complex web apps and platforms
  • Skills: Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with at least one frontend framework, ideally Vue 3. A strong understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem
  • Problem Solver: Ability to balance building the perfect solution with getting things done
  • Collaborator: Willingness to work with designers and product owners, take on responsibilities outside your core role, and help develop roadmaps, backlogs, and sprint plans
  • Passion: A strong interest in open-source projects and privacy-first software
  • Language: Proficiency in English

  • Proficiency in German
  • Experience using Docker or other containerisation technologies
  • A strong portfolio with personal projects or open source contributions
  • An understanding of community organising
  • A passion for community-based solutions to big problems
